Every once in a while I come across a book, video or other product that I really feel is honest and helpful for loosing weight and following a healthier lifestyle. I hope that you find these products useful. (Note that the GI Diet book and Herbalist Fresh Start Kit™ and Detox Kit™ cleanse kits are used during my BeyondWeightNow weight loss programs).
The GI Diet by Rick Gallop is the book used during the BeyondWeightNow weight loss program. It's an easy-to-follow, easy-to-understand resource. However, there are several nutritional recommendations in the book that I do not agree with, such as the use of artificial sweetners. Beyondweightnow program participants will receive a list of healthier food choices as an addendum to this book.
The Fresh Start Kit™ is one of the detoxification kits recommended for BeyondWeightNow program participants, to make cleansing easy and help jump-start your weight loss program. (Note: if you are prone to digestive disturbances like constipation or diarrhea, you should order the Detox Kit™ below instead). Made by The Herbalist in Seattle, this kit includes five products that work simultaneously to increase well being. The goal of this kit is to assist the whole body in getting a fresh start to help you reach your health goals - from cleansing the body to losing weight.

An excellent resource to educate yourself about the massive dietary fat deficiency in the United States that is contributing to obesity.
Overcoming Underearning® is for anyone, at any income level, who is not in control of their spending and investments. I believe it's important for anyone embarking on a successful weight loss program to search out other self improvement programs as well. This is by far, one of my favorites. I've read this book and participated in three of Barbara Stanny’s tele-seminars. The book is written in a format that allows you to follow along step-by-step, improving your finances and improving your life along the way. Check out Barbara's schedule of classes and tele-seminars.
Healthy Healing's Detoxification by Linda Page Ph.D. is packed full of health-issue specific programs to cleanse, purify and renew. A recipe book to cleanses and an excellent reference for your library.
I discovered this DVD years ago and used it to get back in shape after an injury. It's an excellent workout for those of all levels and requires minimal workout space. Kathy Smith is a pro, who carefully describes each move and encourages proper form to avoid injury and get the most out of your workout.

She is a nationally recognized speaker and the author of several best selling books, including Prince Charming Isn't Coming and Overcoming Underearning®. Barbara also offers tele-seminars. I have participated in three of her tele-seminars. In fact, while participating in Barbara's Overcoming Underearning® session I cleared away so much mental clutter that my BeyondWeightNow program was formed. I would highly recommend Barbara as a follow up to your eight-week BeyondWeightNow program.

A down-to-earth, genuine and passionate person, who cares about health as much as I do. Her new book includes recipes, a diet plan and great healthful information. - "Eat Fat, Lose Weight" by Ann Louise Gittleman, N.D., C.N.S. How the right fats can make you thin for life. This book is a quick read and full of healthyful, easy to grasp concepts and information. Not overwhelming. Ann's writing style is friendly and flows. I highly suggest this book to continue increasing your knowledge of healthy eating habits.
- "Real Food. What to Eat and Why" by Nina Planck Hailed as the patron saint of Farmer's Markets. Nina covers in a friendly, chatty tone everything from beef and butter (falsely accused, according to Nina - and I agree), to fish, chocolate and more.
- "The CORE Balance Diet" by Marcelle Pick, MSN, OB/GYN NP co-founder of WomenToWomen.com. Whew, this book's a big one! Honestly, I have not read it from cover to cover and probably never will. 416 (small print) pages full of everything from recipes, essential eating plans and core balance custom plans. A wealth of information – if you have time or read very fast! However, pages 236-250 are worth the price of the book. Revising your "Negativity Script"! Essential to life-long weight loss and for getting the most out of living!
